What's All The Fuss About Probiotics?
By now I’m sure you’ve heard about how important those little guys in your gut are. Not only does the gastro intestinal tract (your gut) contain 70% of our immune system, our good friend science tells us we’re technically more bacteria than human (yep, creepy). And probiotics, the good bacteria, are like nature’s own mini-superheroes fighting the good fight inside our insides.
I guess you could say, probiotics are kind of a big deal.
But we were tired of being told that probiotic drinks needed to be high-sugar dairy shots or bitter tasting kombucha drinks, often with little or no living goodness left in them by the time they reached your belly. So, we decided to do something about it.
Say Hello To PERKii
Working with some very smart people at the University of Queensland, we discovered a way of making probiotics (nature’s own mini-superheroes) even stronger. By using a technology called PROGEL™ we created an armour-plated like coating for our probiotic friends that gave them more power to survive the stomach and reach the gut (where their sole purpose is to make you feel good, inside and out).
We then combined them with water, juice and all natural fruit flavours to create PERKii - the world’s first armour-plated probiotic water. With over a billion LIVING probiotics ready to fight the good fight and wrapped up in a fruity lactose-free, 26 calorie drink.
We can hear your insides already: ‘Thanks a billion, guys!’
Scientific research has shown that good gut flora can promote many benefits for overall physical and psychological health; including easing digestive troubles, boosting mood and brain function, assisting weight-management and boosting immunity.
In fact, the world’s largest clinical study on the immune effects of probiotics confirmed that the Lactobacillus Casai Lc431 strain in particular reduces the duration of symptoms from the common cold and flu.
